Architect(s) and/or artist(s)
  • Horta Victor

Victor Horta created in 1903, for his friend Sander Pierron, writer and journalist, this fairly simple house.

Horta used red brick for the first time, but also as usual carved hard stone.

At the same time, he created two other houses for his sculptor friends Pierre Braecke and Fernand Dubois.

The architect just finished the Wauquez stores.

His style is much wiser than in the days of the Solvay’s and other the industry bosses. However, his signature is recognizable in the neat front door, surrounded by bluestone and in the bronze fittings, handle, letterboxes and swan-shaped bell.

House listed in February 1998.
