For two years, the painter Victor Servranckx put aside his profession as an abstract painter to focus on architecture.

In 1925, he designed this incredible corner building, right next to Erasmus's ancient house! It is an apartment building, with red and yellow brick cladding, which makes the best use of its position on the corner of two streets.

Capped with rounded chimneys, turrets and projecting elements, the building presents all Streamline style elements.

We find some of these elements in his paintings of the time, quite similar to that of Fernand Léger.
