Modern 50-60

Although it appeared in the early 1950s, this style does not (yet) really have a name. We can name it “Expo 58” in reference to the innovative architectures that amazed visitors to this first post-war universal exhibition held in Brussels, or “Spirou” for the type of villas that we found in the Spirou and Fantasio comics books by cartoonist André Franquin.

It is characterized by its aesthetics more than by the materials used. The roofs are in butterfly wings, the door handles in the shape of a boomerang, the entrance doors are protected by a sloping canopy, the structures are shaped like irregular polygons...
