Quite revolutionary social city built in 1957 by architect Van der Meeren.
The basic principle was simple, quickly build social housing in pre-fabricated materials ready to assemble. The houses were built in a month. Here, 10 buildings were arranged on a plot of land with trees and landscaped gardens.
These homes were intended for retired households.
The current site, which has 4 long buildings with a total of 50 housing units, has just undergone major renovations, insulation, rejuvenation and even embellishment !
The concretes were painted in bright colors, interesting and creative realization by &SENSE architectural firm .
Here is a remarkable ensemble, surprisingly cheerful and fresh, a little holiday air blows here.
