Double building, artist’s studio (1902) and private house (1905), designed by architect Ernest Blerot for sculptor and painter Louise de Hem.
Built in the Floral Art Nouveau style, the large studio facade features a superb sgraffito depicting the artist at work. While the house facade, narrower, shows more ornaments. One can admire two very beautiful sgraffito representing a rooster at sunrise and above 4 flying swallows.
An almost exact copy of this house can be found on the Place Morichar 41 in Saint Gilles, also built by Ernest Blerot.
In 2023, the whole was remarkably restored, except for the large sgraffito in the workshop showing the artist at work.
Buildings classified in October 1997.
