  • Dewin Jean Baptiste

Remarkable achievement in 1910, by architect Jean Baptiste Dewin, right next to a beautiful house signed Antoine Pompe. Sponsored by Bruno Schmidt, Engineer of the Arts et Manufactures School.

The architect was inspired by the geometric style of "Viennese Secession" for this vast three levels house.

We find this style in many of his creations. It gives pride of place to mosaics depicting mythological animals, falcon Horus appears twice on the facade.

The street number 172, is embossed in the hard stone, like a watermark.

The house was completely decorated inside-outside by the architect.

Building listed in October 1996.
