Just opposite the ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles) buildings, this very atypical building, mixing modernism and orientalism, was designed by the architect Gabriel Van Wylick, who then lived in Hong Kong. Michel Walthère, a Belgian architect, was commissioned to build this house in 1930.
The façade has many oriental elements, including the very typical "pagoda" roof in Chinese tiles, and openwork pieces in enamelled ceramic that run along the façade at regular intervals, right up to the cornice.
