Among the buildings of a medical nature built by Jean Baptiste Dewin, we have retained this one, designed by the architect in 1935, in the Art Deco style.
It is a beautiful two-storey orange-red brick building, plus an attic storey. Large facade, divided into nine bays, punctuated by pilasters topped with stylized storks.
The entrance gate is protected by a stone awning resting on four pilasters.
Above this, in a typical Art Deco typography, the words MATERNITE D’IXELLES in mosaics, dear to Dewin.
The building has been remodeled many times, and now houses 28 apartments.
