An atypical architect, not belonging to any movement, Henri Lacoste built this house in 1926 in Auderghem.
In the Art Deco-eclectic style, it incorporates the codes dear to Lacoste, which he drew from antiquity.
Bright colors, use of decorative bas-reliefs.
From his youthful years working with his father, an artistic ironworker, he retained interesting ironwork elements such as the grasshopper above the front door and the handle with his initials and name.
The facade is a clever blend of modernism, Mediterranean style, and ocean liner style.
A five-sided bay window lines the left corner of the facade. The cornices are painted in highly contrasting colors, as are the woodwork and railings.
The villa was listed in February 2012.
