Two houses built by architect Strauven in 1899, still fairly classic, he was only 21 years of age!
The one at N°30 presents more typical Art Nouveau ornaments, such as carved stones, very elaborate ironwork and some sgraffito, some of which have disappeared.
The neighboring house at N°32, more classic, has some interesting Art Nouveau elements, such as stained glass on an opaque background.
These two houses are among the first that Strauven has built, the following ones will be much more “breathtaking”, he has built nearly sixty houses in Brussels.
