Adrien Blomme designed in 1928 and 1929, in the modernist style of the interwar period, two semi-detached villas, perfectly integrated, for different commissioners, including Elie Benezra who also entrusted the architect with his “Oriental Carpets” store located rue de l'Ecuyer (no longer existing).

For several years, they have been united in a single building which houses the headquarters of the Institute of European Studies of the ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles).

The treatment of the facades and the style of the two villas being identical, the illusion of a unique building is perfect.
