Beautiful set of two apartment buildings located on either side of Avenue Général Lartigues, and Square Vergote.
Designed in 1935 by architects Dewitte and Vermeiren for No.10 and by Vermeiren alone for No.10b.
Large, luxurious buildings were fashionable in the 1930s.
The style is Art Deco, in the imposing form of the buildings, but also in the facade ornaments. Note the monumental entrance gate, surmounted by a stained glass window bearing the name of each residence.
Fortunately, the two buildings have stood the test of time, and have retained all their prestige.
